Bill Gates Interview With Gizmodo
Bill Gates was asked what one product they (microsoft) have released in that last 5 years, that he wishes they could have actually polished better “Ask me AFTER we ship the next version of Windows…. then I will be more open to give you a blunt answer”.
I don’t really need to go on a “I love mac” rant- on the opposite side, I actually wonder how well Microsoft is actually going to learn their lesson when they release the next Windows version. . . I will probably always have an Apple portable, but I would be open to a solid desktop actually running some solid Window’s action, depending on how much they can learn from the annoying Vista platform.
I agree. I’ll go wherever the best operating system and hardware is. When Windows XP came out, it was the best around. A pretty solid operating system for the time actually.
Since then they’ve stood by while Apple released a far superior system and have yet to show any signs of being to compete with it.
But who knows… in 5 or 10 years Apple could go downhill and MS could be on top once again. Although, I tend to think Microsoft is a dinosaur that will eventually be only a shadow of its former self.
not that this is relevant, but if a newer version of windows comes out within the next year i’ll be pissed. i’m still trying to figure out some things for the 2007 version and it’s tricky. ack!
I agree with Sam, Mac may not always be on top. I think that there are a few basic functions on Mac OS X that are above and beyond a Windows system. One quick example: the ability to drag a file/folder over another folder and have the folder open so you can move files quickly and easily, so much better than opening two windows and dragging between them.
I don’t know what it is about companies having to reinvent the wheel. Apple took an existing kick-A operating system and built upon it to make it usable for the masses. I’m a PC fan, but you gotta give credit where it’s due. Moving to Unix was genius!
Macs are so cool, they make me wanna wet my pants!
