HDMI Cables

Just over a year ago, I started working in the Home Theater industry. I was privileged to have someone who was looking for labor and willing to teach me everything I needed to know about the business. This included installing, pricing, pre-wiring homes, programming systems, as well as updating old home theaters. Pre-wiring a home was never fun for me really. I even hired some friends to come help me out. I did have to design the over-all system before I ever actually did anything, then comes endless hole drilling, and running cable lines for 3 miles of low voltage cable in just a few days, by myself. The final day of the projects were the best usually. The home is furnished and complete in every way but one, I show up with a 50″ or larger 1080P HDTV, ready for installation and viewing pleasure.

Obviously, the best looking televisions were the ones with the highest resolutions, combined with the best video source. When we found a good brand of TV that we liked and found a good movie to show off to the customers, it was always done over HDMI cables rather than component. HDMI (high definition multimedia interface) can transfer high definition video signals (up to 1080p) as well as surround sound (up to 8 channels) all with in the same cable.

Rather than using VGA, DVI, Component, Composite, or S-video, you can trust that HDMI cables are the future of High Definition and Surround Sound. With the release of HDMI 1.3, which supports over one billion colors and a bit rate over 10 Gbps (twice as much as the original HDMI 1.0 devices support), you can bet that we will continue to see amazing high-definition picture quality on more electronics than ever.
